Lugano, Switzerland

Lugano is located on Lake Lugano in Southern Switzerland, and has a distinctive Mediterranean flavor. Easy accessible by train from other Swiss towns, it is one of Switzerland's most popular summer holidays. Day trip on the lake round out the visitor's trip to this garden city.

About 800 Jews live there; many Hassidim are seen on the streets. The community boasts Orthodox families, a Talmud Torah, a day school and a synagogue.

Althouth politically Swiss, Lugano remains Italian in ambiance and culture. If Lugano is an example, today Jews in Switzerland appear to be comfortable, with complete equality and religious freedom. They feel at home.

This kosher hotel is the institution in this small Jewish community. Hotel owner Moshe Gefen, originally from Poland, owns the hotel for more then 25 years and   speaks many languages. His hotel is efficient, clean and heimisch . The glatt kosher food is tasty and well cooked.

Many Jewish business people stay in the kosher facility, which holds religious services during the morning and evening and draws worshippers from throughout the city. Many of them stay in the hotel during the merchandise fairs held in Milan, Italy, about 1 hour drive south.

Half-board and full-board packages available. We can also book you in other hotels nearby if you wish 4 or 5* hotel and will arrange your meals at Lugano restaurant. 

Unfortunately, meals only is not available without accommodations (unless you pay $50 service fee).

Double room, full board cost there from  310 sfr per room, including 3 meals.
