Wed, August 13 Depart JFK to Johannesburg.
Thurs, August 14. Arrive in
Johannesburg. Upon your arrival you will be taken to your hotel where you will
be able to relax before your tour begins. If time permits, you will go for
dinner at one of Johannesburg's finest kosher restaurants.
Fri, August 15. Johannesburg - The
City of Gold.
We visit the Sterkfontein Caves and the magnificent Wonder Cave. We return to
Johannesburg and if time permits there will be some time for shopping before we
prepare for Shabbat.
Sat, August 16. Shabbat. Shabbat is spent with the Jewish community of
Johannesburg.
Sun, August 17. Kruger National Park. We fly to the Lowveld. In the
afternoon we take a game drive safari in the famous Kruger National Park and
search for the Big 5.
Mon, August 18. Kruger, Blyde River Canyon and the Potholes. We
take an early morning game drive (one of the best times to view wildlife) in the
Kruger National Park. Again, we search for the Big 5 and other animals. In the
afternoon we drive up the magnificent Blyde River Canyon and admire the views
from God's Window and the Bourkes Luck Potholes.
Tue, August 19. Another day Kruger National Park. More game viewing in
the Kruger National Park. return flight to Johannesburg.
Wed, August 20. St. Lucia Wetlands World Heritage Site. An early
flight to Richards Bay from where we drive to St. Lucia. We take an afternoon
cruise on the estuary, searching for hippo and crocodile.
Thurs, August 21. Cape Vidal. Short drive through the National Park to
Cape Vidal, where you can try some snorkeling or simply relax on the unspoiled,
subtropical beach. Or enjoy an open jeep safari in the famous Hluhluwe/Umfolozi
National Park, home to almost half the world's surviving rhino population,
searching for the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino).
Fri, August 22. Canoe Safari. Enjoy an early morning canoe safari on the
massive Lake St.Lucia, searching for hippo and crocodile. We spend time relaxing
on nature trails, horseback safaris, or simply on the beach. We take an
afternoon flight to Johannesburg to prepare for Shabbat.
Sat, August 23. Shabbat is spent with the Jewish community of
Johannesburg.
Sun, August 24. Gold Reef City and Soweto. The morning is spent exploring
the old mining town of Gold Reef City, where we take an underground goldmine
tour, and watch a gold pour. You can also try your luck at picking up a gold bar
with one hand. Kruger rands may be purchased. If time permits, we will take a
tour of Soweto Township, and some shopping for family and friends who couldn't
join you on this trip. You catch your return flight to the USA.

Sun, August 10. Depart JFK to Johannesburg
International Airport.
Mon, August 11. Arrive in Johannesburg. Upon your arrival you will be
taken to your hotel where you will be able to relax before your tour begins. If
time permits, you will go for dinner at one of Johannesburg's finest kosher
restaurants.
Tues, August 12. Botswana - The Chobe River. We take a morning flight to
Kasane, Botswana, gateway to Chobe National Park, Southern Africa's premier
safari destination. Enjoy a spectacular game drive along the banks of the Chobe
River, hoping to view massive herds of elephant, buffalo, and other large
animals, as well as the evasive big cats.
Wed, August 13. Victoria Falls. We rise early and are transferred across
the border to Victoria Falls, Zambia, where we encounter one of the most
spectacular sights in the world - the "Smoke that thunders." This 1.12 mile wide
curtain of falling water is considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of
the world.
We return to Kasane for dinner, after which we enjoy a night drive safari.
Thurs, August 14. Day of Safaris. Enjoy an early morning game-drive in
Chobe National Park. Or water safari viewing game along the Chobe River by
boat.
At midday, we enjoy some canoeing on the Chobe River. In the late afternoon, we
board our return flight to Johannesburg.
Fri, August. 15 Johannesburg - The City of Gold. Visit the Sterkfontein
Caves and the magnificent Wonder Cave. We return to Johannesburg and if time
permits there will be some time for shopping before we prepare for Shabbat.
