Costa Del Sol, Spain

N-CH Hotel

N.CH Hotel in Malaga - Torremolinos, Spain

Finally, there is a First Kosher Hotel in Spain, Torremolinos, Costa Del Sol

The Costa del Sol is known as one of the main tourist resorts in Spain, known for its friendly and people and excellent tourist activities. But Kosher hotels were nonexistent in this part of Spain; so we are happy to report that we are able to offer hotel for kosher travelers  that provides typical Sephardic Kosher meals under the inspection of the Rabbi of Torremolinos, Shaul Khalili.

Some breads are HAMOTZI and some MEZONOT (PAT ISRAEL), please ask the Shomer. The cookies and cakes are MEZONOT and PAT AKUM.  The dairy products are made with JALAV AKUM. The meat and the chicken are Jalak Glat Kosher. The salads and vegetables are made in the hotel under supervision, and are BISHUL ISRAEL." .

Feedback from our clients: Dr. Barry and Hilary M. from MA:  Our trip was great. The hotel was very nice. We arrived 12 hours later than expected because the day we left Boston Logan airport lost power so we were 3 hours late leaving and missed our connection and had to be re-routed. We arrived at the hotel around 11:00pm and the lady who cooks the food, Estelle Caliente, had stayed late so she still gave us a hot meal. The food was delicious, Moroccan style. The hotel is a little difficult to find at first as it is located in a little square surrounded by shops down an alleyway in the center of Torremolinos.  Inside everything was spotless and very well appointed with beautiful wood veneer and good size rooms, more than one would expect from a basic hotel. The staff were very helpful. They had a very nice Friday night and Shabbat meal with other parties joining just to eat over Shabbat. Each party had its own table with fresh baked challah and wine or grape juice, plenty to eat and nice atmosphere. There is a Shabbat elevator for those who cannot manage stairs on Shabbat. We parked in a nearby car park which was about 12 euros /night but we discovered on the last day that if you are staying in a local hotel you get a reduction so the hotel may need to give a little better instructions for people arriving by car although in fact the instructions on how to get to the hotel were correct. Its about 10 minutes walk to the synagogue and about 10 minutes walk to the beach. There is a kosher hamburger/schwarma restaurant across the square and another kosher restaurant a little further but we did not try them. We were quite satisfied with quality and quantity of the food at the hotel.. Breakfast was also quite sufficient with choices of cereal, yoghurts, bread, cake, cut up tomatoes and cheese or tuna. I thought it was good value for our four nights with kosher meals for 2.  Apart from getting there and back our trip to Spain worked out perfectly. We visited the Alhambra on the first day. I ordered the tickets over the phone and picked them up at the gate. We drove to Cordova and the on to Seville the next day. The Casa de la Juderia was a lovely hotel also, full of courtyards and different corridors and balconies , fun to explore. The breakfast was a feast. The Hotel N-CH allowed us to leave our luggage in there storeroom on the Thursday and we just took an overnight bag to Seville as we were returning for Friday night. We drove back through the Andalusian countryside stopping for a short time in Ronda. I wish we had more time but we enjoyed everything we did in the south.
