Tuesday

Arrival times

12.05 Naples train station: (to meet 10.44 express train from Rome)

13.00 Naples airport (NAP): (to meet indirect flights from Israel / Europe / USA)

Then straight off to start our magical tour at Caserta Royal Palace: picnic lunch, followed by tour of the Palace.

Wednesday

Whole day boat trip to the magical isle of Capri, visiting the Villa San Michele of author Axel Munthe, ride the chairlift, enjoying a picnic lunch, the villages of Anacapri and Capri, the gardens, free time for the gorgeous shops or a beautiful hike. If you insist on visiting the grottoes we will arrange that for you, but our feedback has been that the cost in time and money are not worth it.

We will return to Sorrento, where we will have dinner followed by a live “Tarantella” show of Neapolitan music and song.

Thursday

Start the day in the village of Vietri, where you will have the opportunity to purchase its famous ceramics at the best prices on the coast.

Continue to Paestum, UNESCO world heritage site comprising 3 magnificent temples from the Greek period, among the best preserved in the world.

On the way back we’ll take a stroll through the town of Amalfi, before making the short journey up to our hotel for dinner.

Friday

The "Path of the gods" – a 3-hour medium difficulty hike on top of the cliffs above the Amalfi coastline with some of the ultimate views of the coast. For many this IS the highlight of the whole tour, although so few tourists take the time to do it.

We’ll picnic at the end of the hike, in the tiny village of Nocelle and then take the local micro-bus down to Positano and visit this most elegant resort.

Return to Amalfi by boat and well take the bus up the hill to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat.

Dinner, after davening, will be on our private terrace, overlooking one of the most spectacular views in the world.

Free time to relax by the pool or in your room

Mincha – light meal, followed by a lovely 1 hour walk down to Amalfi town

Sunday

Pompeii – guided tour of the world's best preserved Roman town destroyed (and then preserved) by the eruption of volcano Vesuvius nearly 2000 years ago.

In the late afternoon we’ll be in Ravello to see the Villas Cimbrone and Rufolo, which make this village so stunning.

Back to our hotel for dinner.

Monday

We will start our last day on the Amalfi Coast at Herculaneum, the other preserved city destroyed by the 79AD eruption of Vesuvius.

Lunch will be with the Rabbi in the Naples shul.

Rounding off this incredible tour will be a visit to see the unbelievable artifacts in the Naples Archeological Museum.

At 16.30 we will bring you to the station to catch your train at 16.50 to Rome, arriving Rome Termini at 1800. You can then catch the airport shuttle train at 18.22 to be in the airport in a half-hour (good for ELAL and European evening flights), or stay in Rome for dinner in the Ghetto, overnight in a Rome or Rome airport hotel and leave the next day (for North America).

Every day

Minyan – 3 times per day. Sefer Torah.

Full breakfast, picnic lunch, full served dinner.

Our kitchen in the hotel is under full-time kashrut supervision. The Rav Machshir is Rav Bahbout of Rome. All meat is glatt. Milk is regular but provision can be made for chalav yisrael, if you tell us in advance.

• flights: we will meet you mid-day in Naples and bring you back to Naples on departure day. Naples can be reached by air or by luxury express train from Rome and other Italian cities
• spending money for shopping: we will try to take you to plces where your money will buy you more, but we will look after you so well that you will not NEED to spend anything at all!!
• upgrades: deluxe rooms (DLX), and single occupancy are available at an additional price (see booking form).

·         insurance: all clients should be aware that while all efforts are made to avoid any problems before during or after your trip, Naomi carries no insurance for your health or luggage. While using the services only of registered suppliers, we recommend that you purchase fully comprehensive travel insurance as Naomi cannot be held liable for any mishaps during your stay.

• tips: at your discretion, but we recommend 100 euro per person for the week for drivers, chefs, waiters and chambermaids and we can distribute for you

  Naomi's promise: "From the minute you land, until the minute you take off, you will not need to spend one cent". (You'll probably spend many cents, but that's because you want to, not because you have to!!)
